It's Been A Doozie Of A Winter

We are all looking forward to the end of New Jersey's second snowiest winter on record and the warmer weather and longer days that arrive with spring.

2011 Update - Correction in a Bull Market

The stock market rally that started in early October has continued without letup into mid-February. Money poured out of bonds and into equities on a daily basis. The U.S. stock market has outpaced both the European stock markets and those of the emerging world. The political crisis in Egypt has led to unrest and regime change in Libya and may spread to other Middle Eastern countries.

Good News in the Unemployment Report

In January, the unemployment rate for those with a college degree was 4.2%, while the unemployment rate for those with less than a high school diploma was 14.2%. Unemployment rates are used by many as bellwethers for the health of the economy and the markets react based on how those numbers compare to economists' forecasts and historical standards.
